Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:

Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census about mountain gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies.

Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Diana Fossey, who spent most of her lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.

Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur - natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges are devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.

All these appalling facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 20xx the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.

Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations are receiving donations - big notes, small notes or even coins - from housewives, plumbers, ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids. Some of them cannot afford to send the money but they do. 如果我成为我们班的英语学习委员，同学们有不懂的单词和句子，我会不厌其烦地一对一地辅导，或集体领读；在课前，我会井井有条地组织大家预习新课，复习旧课；如果老师上课万一有什么疏漏之处，我会及时地予以提醒；请相信，我会想方设法让我们对上英语课始终保持浓厚的兴趣；同时，我还会主动请同学们监督我当选后履行职责的情况，虚心听取意见和建议，积极改进工作，使得我班同学的英语成绩在全级独树一帜。

先生们女士们，大家下午好！我非常荣幸站在这里为你们带来一段小小的演讲，我今天所要讲的主题是“生命”，我希望你们喜欢。

人们的生活正在逐步的`改善着。实际上，我站在这里就正在成长。如果一个人的生命必须面对许多各种各样的选择，那么，我会一边选择，一边成长。曾经我希望我能在将来在大学里学习，不管怎么样，我考过了，如你所见到的，我现在正站在这梦寐以求的大学里，可是现在，我更渴望知道我的未来会有什么等着我。

当我来到这所学校的时候，我告诉我自己。我的将来就从这里开始，接下来，我要学着去成为一个男人，一个真正的男人，并有一个健康的身体。能够胜任重任，能有独到的见解，能见识广泛，能思想深邃，能判断出对的和错的，能工作的非常出色。

我的老师曾经说过：“你不是普通的，你是独一无二的。永远不要忘记你所能展示给人们是你的思想，不是你的技术。”我将把我的人格和我的兴趣以及我的能力带到我的学习中去，在这个过程中，我将注重实践和理论的结合。如果我能实现我的这个梦想，我想，我那时就真正的长大了，那时我相信我的亲情，友情，爱情将会变的十分完美，十分幸福。

大家好！

我叫xx。这次我很荣幸能站在讲台上进行英语科代表的竞选。这次，我要通过我的努力，成为老师的助手，同学的榜样，我相信我一定能竞选上英语科代表这个职务。

虽然我是一名中学生，但是我喜爱英语，成绩更是在班里名列前茅。甚至有时候玩游戏我都玩英语的，虽然有些我不会念，但慢慢来，总是能学会的。再说了，这几年我一直都是英语课代表，有一些经验，我有责任、有能力为英语老师做好我力所能及的工作。

一个人最可怜的是无知，最可悲的是自私，最可敬的是拼搏。不管我竞选成功与否，我都会让自私、无知与我无缘。只有那一股子拼劲，为大家，为班级做事。我在每次的英语考试中都能达到95分以上，成绩很不错，此外，我有着强烈的责任心，有丰富的经验，可以帮助老师做一些力所能及的事。如果我竞选成功，我一定会全心全意地为同学服务。每天早上，我会带领同学们进行早读，并把同学的作业收齐。

我不仅英语学习成绩好，而且我做的英文海报和我的英语书写，也是很厉害的！我在业余时间里或假期里，我喜欢看英语报、读英文书、唱英文歌……

我从二年级到五年级，都是英语课代表，所以我有决心和经验来承担英语课代表这个职责。虽然我的口语能力还有待提高，但是我会继续努力的！

如果我当上了英语课代表，我会尽力为老师和同学服务！

在课上，我会带头积极举手发言；课下，如果有同学来问我不会的题，我也一定会耐心爽快地回答。如果遇到了一些难题，我会组织其他的同学共同探讨，并寻求老师的帮助。正因为如此，我有信心做好一名英语科代表。

假如我落选了，我也不会伤心，因为那说明我还有许多缺点，我将继续自我完善，因为每一个失败都会提醒我下次努力。俗话说“失败乃成功之母“，我还会继续努力，找出自己的不足并及时改正，争取下次能竞选上。

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. It's great to be here. First of all, thanks for your coming. Tonight, what I am gonna talk about is innovation. Who can tell me what is innovation? We all know that, since 1978, China has been through the greatest changes brought by the reform and opening-up. So what we can see from the reform and opening-up? The power of innovation. That's why I am here. I am here to show you my Chinese dream.

I want to talk about the future and how we're going to win it. If we want to make innovation. But firstly, we should make sure that China is a place where we can make it if we try, where we can go as far as hard work and big dreams will take us.
